HITRUST Risk-based, Two-year Certification
The Word & Brown Companies announced in February 2023 that key systems* used by the Word & Brown General Agency and its sister organization, CHOICE Administrators, have earned Certified status for information security by HITRUST.
IMPORTANCE OF CERTIFICATION
HITRUST Risk-based, Two-year (r2) Certified status demonstrates the companies’ systems have met key regulations and industry-defined requirements and are appropriately managing risk. This achievement places The Word & Brown Companies in an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards, and frameworks, and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST Assurance Program helps organizations address security and data protection challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.
SYSTEMS EARNING CERTIFICATION
The select systems used by Word & Brown Insurance Administrators, Inc. (doing business as Word & Brown General Agency) and CHOICE Administrators Insurance Services, Inc., which earned the HITRUST r2 certification are ChoiceBuilder, Doclink, Great Plains, Orion, Pegasus, and WBQuote/WBQuote Lite.
