David Parker has been named Business Development Director at Word & Brown. In his new role as Business Development Director, David will be out in the field as our brand ambassador, engaging with and educating brokers.


 
He’ll be working on behalf of Word & Brown’s leadership group to solicit feedback on ways the GA can further expand its portfolio and services to solve broker, agency, and customer issues in our marketplace. David will also conduct sales webinars, develop new resources for brokers, and assist with elevated sales training.
 
David has an extensive background in the insurance industry. That includes 16 years on the carrier side of the business and nearly four years as a sales executive with another general agency. He has held varied and pivotal roles during his career, including Call Center, Claims, Account Management, Sales, and Program and Project Management.
 
In his most recent sales leadership role at Cigna + Oscar, David cultivated sales representative relations and educated partners concerning their portfolio of products and services. While there, he earned recognition as the top producer for growth in the California region during 2022 and 2023.
 
David is the immediate past President of the San Diego chapter of the California Agents and Health Insurance Professionals (CAHIP – San Diego), which he led for two years.
