It’s an exciting time for brokers in California. Quoting and enrollment are now live for small businesses with one to 100 employees seeking 2018 coverage with Kaiser Permanente, the nation’s largest integrated health system based in California. Quoting and enrollment are available through Word & Brown as a result of the new General Agent contract signed with Kaiser Permanente in September for coverage starting January 1, 2018.

“The partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Word & Brown brings so many exciting opportunities,” said San Diego Regional Vice President Vanessa Benitez. “Adding Kaiser Permanente to our portfolio will allow us to better serve our broker community and their clients by providing them another option for innovative and affordable coverage.”

“We’ve updated our quoting and enrollment technology and brokers can now get started on their 2018 renewals and new business,” noted Orange County and Inland Empire Regional Vice President Bill Mason. “Our team can run quotes for brokers or they can do it themselves online using WBQuote. It’s the broker’s choice.”

The new agreement further deepens Word & Brown’s roster of leading health insurers serving the small business market in California, and it gives brokers access to all of the top carriers through one general agency.

“This is something we’ve wanted for a long time,” said Northern California Regional Vice President Jan Mesa. “It positions us as a true one-stop shop, making it easier for brokers and their clients when shopping for coverage for 2018.”

Kaiser Permanente plans quoted through Word & Brown offer both rate and benefit parity with coverage purchased directly from Kaiser Permanente. This means brokers not only will have access to some of the same plans Kaiser Permanente offers direct, but the plans will be priced the same.

Brokers ready to quote for 1/1/2018 can login at the Word & Brown website or contact their Word & Brown representative about starting a quote.
