Healthgrades Publishes 2026 “America’s 100 Best Hospitals” List: 18 in California, 3 in Nevada

Healthgrades recently published its annual list of “America’s Best Hospital Awards” to recognize the top hospitals in the county. This year’s list includes 18 facilities in California as well as three facilities in Nevada.


To evaluate and determine its winners, Healthgrades used three years of data from Medicare for 2022, 2023, and 2024. It looked at more than 45 million Medicare medical claims at 4,500 hospitals. The analysis reviews clinical outcomes, mortality, and complication rates for 31 of the most common procedures and conditions.

  • Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (West Hollywood)

  • Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (Burlingame)

  • Mills Health Center (San Mateo)

  • Northridge Hospital Medical Center (Northridge)

  • Providence Holy Cross Medical Center (Mission Hills)

  • Regional Medical Center of San Jose

  • Scripps Memorial Hospital (Encinitas)

  • Scripps Mercy Hospital (San Diego)

  • Scripps Mercy Hospital (Chula Vista)

  • St. John’s Regional Medical Center (Oxnard)

  • St. John’s Hospital (Camarillo)

  • Stanford Hospital (Palo Alto)

  • Sutter Roseville Medical Center (Roseville)

  • UC Davis Medical Center (Sacramento)

  • UC San Diego Health Hillcrest Medical Center (San Diego)

Three Nevada hospitals ranked among America’s 100 best include:
