Aetna has announced it will no longer offer ACA Small Group plans in many California rating areas starting in 2026.

Here’s a quick summary of what’s changing:

  • ACA HMO plans will no longer be offered in rating areas 1–14.
  • ACA OAMC/PPO plans will no longer be offered in rating areas 1–3, 5, 7–9, and 12–14.
What this means is that some groups in California will not receive a renewal for 2026 and will need to move to a new plan, product, or carrier.

Next Steps
If your clients are impacted, Aetna has provided a 2026 Broker Renewal Resource and California Plan Guide outlining which products remain available and what actions to take. These tools include plan and network availability by county, plus mapping details for remaining coverage options.
