We received the following announcement from CaliforniaChoice

Health Net’s exit from the California Group Commercial insurance market has created an urgent transition period for thousands of small businesses. Brokers across the state are working quickly to help affected groups find a new home — and CaliforniaChoice is here to support you. To recognize the effort you’re putting in, we’re introducing a limited time CaliforniaChoice Health Net Transition Bonus.†

1) Earn $100 Per Member Bonus

For every Health Net member who transitions into the CaliforniaChoice program, you’ll earn $100 per member. 

Examples:

• 12 members --> $1,200 bonus
• 28 members --> $2,800 bonus
• 63 members --> $6,300 bonus

2) Who Qualifies

This bonus applies to Health Net direct groups moving to the CaliforniaChoice program through: 

• A broker working directly with CaliforniaChoice 
• A broker working through a General Agency partner 

However you prefer to write CaliforniaChoice business, this is our way of supporting you in helping employers navigate this change and ensuring their employees maintain access to the care they rely on. 

3) Program Details

Effective Dates:	Oct. 1, 2026 to Jan. 1, 2027
Bonus Amount:	$100 per enrolled Health Net member
Maximum Bonus:	No maximum limit
Minimum Qualifications:	None
Eligibility:	Health Net direct business written by brokers directly or through General Agencies
Payment Eligibility:	CaliforniaChoice Transition Bonus payments are based on enrolled member count at initial enrollment
New Sold Groups:	Must be active at the time of payment
Payment Timing:	One-time payment to be made 60 days after 1/1/27 for the 10/1/26 to 1/1/27 qualification period

Your Health Net Transition Timeline

• New Groups: Health Net Available to new CalChoice business through 1/1/27 effective date
• Renewing Groups: Health Net Available to CalChoice business through 1/1/27 effective date
• CalChoice renewing Health Net members receive a full 12 month plan cycle

With CaliforniaChoice, your clients and employees don’t have to start over.  Health Net members can move to another health plan within our portfolio of six remaining health plans – and most likely will be able to keep their current doctor, hospital, or even provider network.  

 

Limited Time: Special Underwriting Promotion

Health Net direct groups may qualify for a streamlined path to CaliforniaChoice. 

• 1+ medically enrolled subscribers
  • Most recent Health Net invoice may be submitted in lieu of a DE 9C.
• Available for 10/1/26 - 1/1/27 new business effective dates

Groups will be considered eligible if:

•  Health Net invoice is fully reconciled  
• A current pay stub is provided for any subscriber not listed on the invoice 
• Owners enrolling who are not listed on the invoice provide a signed Owner/Partner Statement 
• At least 51% of eligible employees are located in California 

Owner-only groups are not eligible. All standard CaliforniaChoice eligibility criteria apply to this promotion.
