The Word & Brown Companies, including the Word & Brown General Agency, have been named to the 2024 “Best Places to Work in Insurance” list. The program’s annual list recognizes employers for their outstanding performance in establishing workplaces where employees can thrive, enjoy their work, and help their companies grow.
 
This is the second time Best Places has honored The Word & Brown Companies on its Best Places to Work in Insurance list, which highlights agents, brokers, insurance companies, and other insurance-related firms for their high levels of employee engagement and satisfaction.
 
The Word & Brown Companies organization began with the founding of the Word & Brown General Agency in 1985. The CaliforniaChoice private health insurance exchange launched in 1996, followed by the ChoiceBuilder ancillary benefits exchange in 2009. Both exchanges operate under the CHOICE Administrators banner. The California Rx Card and the Nevada Drug Card prescription savings cards were introduced in 2007 and 2008, respectively. They offer savings of up to 80 percent on prescription medications at pharmacies nationwide.

The Best Places to Work program divides employers into the categories of small, 25-249 employees; medium, 250-999 employees; and large, 1,000 or more employees. The Word & Brown Companies were nominated in the medium category. This year’s Business Insurance and Best Companies Group report features 100 companies of various sizes, from 25 to more than 4,000 employees.
