Tech Team Updates for August 2024
We’re offering more Tech Team Updates this month on news you can use concerning Ease. It’s the online enrollment platform for health insurance brokers working in the 2-250 employee marketplace.
Employee Navigator (EN) Webinars: Word & Brown will be hosting the first of three EN Webinars next month – on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Others will follow in October and November. Watch for updates or contact your W&B rep for details.
Additional Training: Employee Navigator is also hosting its own training webinars in August – on the 7th and 8th. Register now. Additional training sessions are expected soon. A session on the Ease migration tool is slated for August 12.
The most recent Employee Navigator software release includes these updates:
- Rate Library
- Resetting filters using the Rate Library tool now also clears the Rate Area filter, which requires you to re-select a State and Rate Area for your search.
- When adding a new plan, the State field in the Rate Library search tool will automatically default to the company-level State if available.
- When renewing a plan, the State field in the Rate Library search tool will automatically default to either the plan-level Situs State or the company-level State, whichever is available.
- Open Enrollment user experience enhancements
- Several updates have been made to Open Enrollment to make it more accessible and provide more information.
- Ending Plans Page
- The info icon now features more comprehensive information, including breakdowns of all three status options.
- The "Open Enrollment: Start Here" support article is now easily accessible from either the info icon or the modal that opens when you select "Read Helpful Tips."

Best Practices: Ease Connect+
To maximize Ease Connect+, we recommend adoption of these best practices:
Organization and Plans:
If building groups and plans, locate and review the appropriate Plan Build Checklist and/or Tutorial to ensure all appropriate information is added in Ease. (Search to locate as they are specific to plan types and/or features/functions.)
- Employees
- Ensure all required demographic information is entered/updated in Ease in a timely manner.
- Confirm Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is completed and submitted.
- Administration Tasks
- Complete and review the pre-connection discrepancy audit (broker and company administrators).
- Notify the connections support team immediately when amendments are made.
- Reconcile Ease with the Carrier Invoice monthly.
